ABP came first and now everyone is switching to uBlock Origin because it is better. uBlock Origin doesnt do this, is more effective, and has better performance. Last month I downloaded Total AdBlock by mistake, believing it was an upgrade of the 5-star Edge AdBlock. Their Customer 'Service' is an obstinate gatekeeper that refuses to take any blame for the failure. ![]() Facebook goes to great lengths to ensure that their sponsored posts remain unblocked, and they have an entire department dedicated to circumventing ad blockers. The software failed to do what its supposed to do (restore an iPhone 12). The creator of uBlock then transferred ownership of uBlock to Chris Aljoudi, who created (which was bought out by AdBlock), and the original creator forked uBlock to create uBlock Origin. This does have to do partly with the way Facebook uses their code to "hide" those sponsored posts from browser extensions. uBlock Origin originated from uBlock (which in turn originated from HTTP Switchboard). However, only the latter are considered actual ads. Hi Patricia, I'm sorry you weren't happy with AdBlock! AdBlock does not replace ads with anything Facebook is always chock full of both "sponsored posts" and actual advertisements.
